Data deletion

A business may use our app to handle orders that come in by message or comment on its Facebook Page or Instagram account. If your name, platform ID, messages or order details ended up with us that way, you can ask us to delete them. This page also shows how a Page or account owner removes the app's access.

More on what the app collects and why: Privacy Policy.

Ask us to delete your data

  1. Send an email to info@reedindustrialsystems.com with the subject "Data deletion request".
  2. Include these details, so we can find your records:
    • your name as it appears on Facebook or Instagram;
    • which one you used, Facebook or Instagram;
    • the business Page or Instagram account you messaged or commented on;
    • roughly when you wrote to it;
    • your platform ID, if you know it (optional).

    Please don't send passwords, card numbers or ID documents.

  3. We confirm we have your request. We may ask a question or two to match it to the right records, such as the date or the Page you wrote to. We will never ask for your password.
  4. We delete your data and tell you. We finish within 30 days of your request, then email you to confirm it is done.

What we delete, and what may remain

  • We delete the messages, comments, name, platform ID and order details about you that we hold in our systems.
  • Copies that already reached the client's own systems, such as an invoice or a bookkeeping entry, belong to that business. We will tell the client about your request. You can also ask the business directly. It may need to keep some records for tax and accounting reasons.
  • Short-lived backups and logs are erased on the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
  • We keep your request email, so we can show it was handled.

Remove the app's access (Page and account owners)

If you manage a Facebook Page or Instagram account that uses our app (shown in Meta's settings as "RIS Business Connect"), you can remove its access at any time. The app then stops reading your messages and comments and sending replies.

On Facebook

  1. Log in to Facebook as the Page's admin and open Settings & privacy, then Settings.
  2. Open Business integrations. If your Page is managed in Meta Business Suite, use Settings, then Integrations.
  3. Find the app in the list, select it, and choose Remove.

On Instagram

  1. Log in to the Instagram account and open Settings and privacy.
  2. Open Website permissions, then Apps and websites.
  3. Under Active, select the app and choose Remove.

Menu names change from time to time. If you can't find an option, Meta's Facebook Help Center and Instagram Help Center have the current steps.

Removing access doesn't delete what we already hold. To have us delete it, email info@reedindustrialsystems.com and say you are the Page or account owner. We delete your account's data within 30 days of the end of access, and we can also do it on request sooner.

Questions: info@reedindustrialsystems.com. Our Privacy Policy explains the rest.
